why doesnt anyone on this show do a bulk supermarket shop and have it delivered, ? thats what most poor people do now as they cant afford to buy food daily. shopping daily is wasting money, and its the budgeting skills thats the issue, im sure they got internet on their phones, I'm very poor and this is what I do and i never have to worry about where my next meal is coming from , . ps, brook you can help by giving out packed lunches to to the homeless people , making a load of sandwiches at home , and having a mate with a car etc help you give them out to the homeless on the street , that's where real help is needed , and please don't ever let anyone make you feel bad for being wealthy , thats life, theres a lot of people who are poor and thats not your fault .
I love the way they making Hackney out to be like itās third world, the gaf they live in would rent for probably 2.5k on the private market!
Wouldnāt be bringing that rolex to hackney
I always think about how poor people have so many kids knowing they canāt afford to have kids.
I loved how that poor kid was wearing an Apple Watch while crying about not having a laptop. Sad to see how the rich kid was shamed in a guilt trip for her parents wealth. Good episode otherwise
God bless this family and super mom! I grew up in the projects very poor in nyc. I know what itās like to have even less then they have but what they have as a family is richer than money! Love! I must say I have a lot of respect for the rich girl! She is so respectful, caring and sweet! She really tried to understand them and was so considerate.
People being nasty about the poor family is disgusting! š”
Sonia obviously wasnāt always living on the bread line , her circumstances have changed over time for example the dad lives elsewhere! Mum and dad may have only recently split !
I know how it feels to struggle it is very hard I am still dealing with it today
when I use dry spaghetti pasta I snap it in half first, I sometimes make my own pasta which is very cheap and easy, it's just a matter of putting in a bit of effort, homemade sushi is very cheap and easy too, you don't need these sushi making kits, just a good sharp knife. sushi is a poor man's food too, I should know, I eat tonnes of it, lol, I'm poorer than this woman yet I manage because I budget. common sense.
"I don't think she's seen so many black people in her life" lmao
why did the presenter call hackney an urban jungle wtf
Theres nothing wrong with their living condition though
1,500 in benefits? I earn that working full-time.
The laptop šš what a kind thing to do š
What a lovely mum. You should be proud of all you've achieved. š
it's funny how when they "cry" there are NO TEARS. (the poor mom and daughter, while hinting around for free stuff i.e. the laptop)
Thought it was hypocritical for the āpoorā mum to say to the girl about the cheese sandwich āIf you were my kid you would be eating itā, but then say her kids wonāt eat pesto pasta
This episodes were made to compare the rich/poor life style and how both sides feel. Let them be honest and show their feelings and what they think. No judgement!
Ā£1500 is CAD$2500
Here in Ontario Canada on disability I get $1100
sorry but this is not a poor family… I've seen worse, when I watch they house with a son who has a gamechair… Okay they lived in a danger place but a poor family is different. I have respect for the hard working mom dont get me wrong but I can't handle it when someone calls this living "poor"
I really donāt think the poor mom is anywhere as poor as she is making it out to be. The kids are are all dressed decent, and they have a lot of nice things in there house.
We definitely need a after story
So, I work in Hackney and I know that area is not cheap in terms of property prices. The house that Sonia is living in looks beautiful, nice and spacious and in good shape. Iād actually go as far as to say Soniaās council house probably costs more than the rich girls country house. A 1 to 2 bed flat in Hackney costs anywhere between Ā£300k to Ā£800k and a house costs around Ā£700k to over Ā£1Mil ā¦ Of course , Iām aware itās a council house but itās a damn good one and sheās looked after it very well. Good on her š
Why to have kids if they can't afford to live in good condition. If 1 kid its understandable, but majority of poor people have 3-4 kids. Whats the point of living such life?
Family planning and getting a real job is the answer here not shaming a child from a different family about the cost of her family gifts… Clean house is a good sign though )
I feel like the rich people are judged way more than they judge the poor people. If she doesnāt like cheese then whatās the problem surely the woman should have asked her before hand.
The "poor" family has a great house, they're really lucky to have 2 bathrooms. It's big considering she's a single mother. I must say it's unlikely for a poor or middle class family to have enough rooms for all the kids when they have that many.
1500 month is good money , sorry but i believe she gets housing benefit if she getting benifits , i dont believe this woman things she saying don't add up to me, if im wrong im sorry ,
Sonia is doing such a great job, a brilliant example of the how many single mums are doing š
Rich parents pamper their kids because they "want them have a better life than they did." But in doing so, they send them into the world without skills, discipline, or an accurate concept of reality. Putting a child in a bubble doesn't protect them from diseases, it weakens their immune system and makes them more vulnerable.
The mother is a con job
Imma be honest I donāt consider my family poor but this family have more then us
she got the laptop she hinted for . lol
brook this isent true poverty, honey. there are families a lot more desperate than her, she's not as bad off as you think.
miss wiggy ……..playing on it and hinting so much, i feel embarrassed for brook,, shes a lot better off than most poor people in her position , shes hoping brooks family will help her ,
why do the poor adults put the rich kids on such guilt trips in most episodes, you can feel the hate and jealously, and the constant vulgar comparing from the poor people towards the rich kids, your adults and you should know better, these rich kids dont know any different, its uncomfortable viewing, im poor but i really cringe when the "poor adults "on this show put the rich KIDS on guilt trips , nobody is authentic on this show , both sides are out for their own self gain , the poor can play on thier poverty and get something out of it , the rich kids gain in a different way ,
im confused why these women get 1500 a month and struggle as their rent gets paid on benefits .
how many people here are the sort if they won millions on the lottery would hide their wealth? as most people they show on this show love to show off their wealth with a materialistic lifestyle, I will be the more old money eccentric loner sort of wealthy person, happy with rescuing animals, my home would be modest too, a rustic cottage but a lot of home security as I would live in the countryside. I would have an extra property for live-in staff. that's me in a nutshell basically, … now where are my wellies, lol
brooke is so pretty
Designer luxury items are a waste of money anyway.
Just finished the show and honestly, Sonia and her family are just so beautiful inside and out. Canāt applaud Sonia enough. What an incredible mother and such an inspiring independent women šš½šš½šš½
