As someone who was homeschooled, I can confirm the asshole teaching you will undoubtedly leave sex ed out of it and just make lewd โbathroom talkโ at dinner right before you study maps of the world until 9 oโclock at night – which is, incidentally, your bedtime. And if youโre caught in bed with a small radio under your pillow to listen to the hockey game, that is willful defiance and will be punished with the ruthlessness it deserves. I was taught that if you say โoofโ to someone you deserve hell. I have soft autism so what the hell do you think I blurted out at the dinner table? Right. If this is your parenting style, there should be a way to send you to Guantanamo Bay. I wouldnโt participate, but Iโm definitely cracking open a bottle of champagne and getting out a big, comfy chair. I want a front row seat to your suffering.
I'm not going to lie, and I'm not sure why I'm putting this out here, but this seems like the place, so here goes: I spent my grade school years in Utah, receiving abstinence only education. We watched Pam Stenzel, we heard that women who sleep with multiple men are dangerous, and we were even told that having sex before marriage means that no relationship you have will last more than a few months. Through college, I was still learning because I never learned in high school. I was embarrassed, depressed, and upset and the fact we don't have national standards for sex ed is a tragedy. Not only does it lead to higher pregnancy rates, butโ when you're taught abstinence only sex edโ they don't teach you enough about clear and vocal consent. Two of my friends from that school in Utah told me that they "Didn't know" what to do if a girl was drunk at a party and a female friend said she "Didn't want to say no" because she didn't want to upset the guy she was with. Finally, I think another major issue with abstinence only sex ed is this: WE WERE TOLD THAT BEING GAY IS WRONG. We were told that gay sex is immoral and will cause all kinds of diseases, which led to multiple gay classmates of mine being deeply depressed. This needs to change

My terrible ex used to say how being a virgin is like an unopened soda and how once you have sex itโs like an opened soda. And basically how no one wants the opened soda. Basically he was saying virgins are preferred for marriage or like the person only having sex with that one person and getting married to them is idealโฆbut he emphasized this towards woman only. It didnโt matter that he was an opened sodaโฆonly the fact that he wants an unopened soda to be married to or one that has only been touched by him.
