Dickhead Harvey intended to spoil and ruin the moment of euphoria among Filipino fans because it was obvious from the beginning up to the final question that Ms. Phils was remarkably leading in all segments. When he asked, " could Phils. fans push Philippines to win?", it sent out a message of disliking on the part of Harvey that Phils. might take it all which she really did as verified by the four judges. I know how a typical American mind works. They are like okay with the idea that a Filipina might win the coveted crown but deep inside they have this innate ambivalence to honor and give credit to whom it is due, especially if it's for the Philippines, once an American colony which up to this day continues to thrive in the shadow of American imperialism. There are traces of racial preference and a sense of superiority come into play or a simple dismissive thought that side by side Colombia and USA, is Ms. Philippines who by her own merits smashed all her competitors with her striking beauty, stage presence, winning aura and unassuming wit to top it all.
