How beautiful is she? Her physical beauty matches her beautiful soul- something so peaceful and joyful about her. I love hearing her voice on the 700 club, she is so calm and reassuring.

The night she sang this song, I was absolutely blown away. I was a junior in college and participating in the Miss America local competitions. Singing was my talent and I can never forget how I felt when she sang this. am so thrilled to find this on youtube. Still sounds amazing after all these years.
Watching the 700 club tonight I heard Pat say that there would be an interview/ conversation between two former Miss Americas- that meant that interviewer Terry M. must be a former Miss America! So I found Terry's photo and saw that she was Miss America 1973. Then I found this video and to say I was blown away is putting it mildly! You see, for 48 years I NEVER FORGOT THIS SONG OR THIS PERFORMANCE.
Terry is 10 years older than me and I was watching that night. I was fifteen. I LOVED "He Touched Me" and have been singing it ever since! I just didn't know it was Terry doing the singing. Seriously, I've been singing for DECADES with Terry's voice in my head. The only other performance that ever came close to this one was Cheryl Prewitt's. Cheryl, another devout Christian lady, owned the stage, too, when she sang "Don't Cry Out Loud".

Still a chill-bumper. I remember that performance! And isn't that a statement? For one song to be memorable 40+ years later? I think the Lord knew Terry would honor Him with her performance, with her title. She has served Him/His children well. And I love that this post has been up for 10 years–that's longevity too! I found it looking for Terry's appearance on What's My Line as Miss America, which, curiously, doesn't even show in Google/IMDB. Saw it today…It was really just a promo of the pageant/Atlantic City….
