Review: My daughter loved this. fits perfectly, is a little sheer but not see through. I love that the tail is open at feet so she can feel like a mermaid but not have to be stationary. I would say it’s not the easiest thing to talk in (because it’s a full length tail) but it is doable. The suit is super cute even with out the tail. It won’t hold up for a hand-me down but absolutely great price for a one season wear cute suit.Update: after a month of so this suit is starting to show its wear pretty significantly. The color and sparkle is fading and I notice the suit leaves black marks on my daughter after taking it off. Fun for a reason but not recommended for actual swimming suit for recreational purposes.

Title: Fun for dress up but not super functional as a swimsuit
Review: What you would expect given the price. It’s not a functional swimsuit as fabric is more of cheap costume quality. While my daughter hasn’t tried it for swimming I would imagine the top would not be comfortable wet and may even have problems staying in place. It also is a little skimpy for my liking for my 6 year old in public so I purchased a real swimsuit matching in color that my daughter can wear with the tail and add the shell top over is she wants. The swim short bottoms also are not your typical swimsuit material and while they would probably be fine in water, like the top, I don’t see them being very functional for swimming. I doubt this is a very durable suit given the material and also the tail had a significant sized hole in the seam within 5 minutes of her trying it on, so I will have to do some reinforcement sewing. My daughter loves it and it will be fun for her to play dress up in, play with in the bathtub or a kids pool and the tail can be an accessory to her swim suit. Fit was true to size. I bought by almost 6 year old the size 6 and it’s fine as long as she doesn’t have any major growth spurts. All and all…for dress up and for a young mermaid lover this was an okay purchase. Put a smile on my daughter’s face and that’s what counts. But I would not pay more than the $13 I paid for it.
