Monday on “The Talk” the hosts discuss the sudden passing of Cheslie Kryst, former Miss USA, who died by suicide yesterday. Akbar Gbajabiamila shares, “It was heartbreaking. I’ve known her since 2020. I hosted the Miss USA in 2020 and that’s where I got the chance to get to know her. She was such a light and this just took all of us by surprise. Her friends – It was just a reminder to remember to check in on your strong friends, your busy friends, your happy friends and your seem to handle everything well friends. Because to me, that’s why I’m just lost for words, because you see someone who gives you a snapshot of their highlights on social media or whatever and it just looks like everything is going well, and then boom something like this, and it’s jarring.” Guest Dr. Jessica Clemons joins the conversation to shed some light on this tragic story and share warning signs and how to get help.

I'm My own lawyer n Judge…Not Guilty of Suicide!!
I don't think she didn't ever think of killing herself as I did.. since I had many or much adversity from my family…you realize you don't want to hurt yourself! And now I lasted to age 75❣️
Did she go to the 29fl if she lived on the 9thto visit someone? Why would she take her time to leave her apt instead of jumping off her own balcony 🤷🏼🤦❣️
(just saying)
She did have a Councilor but he can't discuss it..
😢
No such thing as strong or weak it’s called being a human.
I know from experience..You show you're strong…Nobody thinks otherwise
Thought this show was canceled!
Here is one scary truth folks: Not for every single person, but for some: Someone fully intending to kill themselves will kill themselves. They will not let you see the signs if they have smiling depression*, or *high functioning depression as Cheslie’s mom called it. Those who show ‘the signs’ may be ambivalent and hoping you will hear their silent cries. Those are the ones we may be able to “save”…if only for a while. It may buy them a few more months or years….who knows. Psychiatric illnesses are DISEASES. Some become fatal just as other illnesses and diseases do. So, yes, getting help, paying attention to folks, all of that is good. However, it is not helpful for someone who is a survivor to torture themselves wondering “what could I have done??” “What did I miss??” “Why didn’t I see the signs???” It is not always so clear cut. Please know this. During a graduate clinical internship at a psychiatric hospital, we had a patient who had been doing much better. Medication, therapy, family support, inpatient hospitalization—all of it. She was working hard and doing better. She even got her guitar and was playing in the community room. Beautiful. So much improvement. Laughing and feeling so much better. She requested and was given a weekend pass. She was moving in the right direction. She died by suicide that weekend.
Every case is so individual, friends. So yes, all the advice is good. Be there, reach out, truly see people. Listen to your gut, ask questions, say the word suicide, do what you can. Also know, that sometimes suicide is the fatal outcome of a brutal illness. No survivor is at fault for “missing” it.

But when people ready to go there is nothing we can do. They will eventually take their life
Rest in peace to Cheslie. I'm so sorry that this has happened to her. It is very interesting to me also that there are no friends of hers that has come out to say anything. You would think that she in her very busy achieving life that she would have met at least one person that was very close to her. Some people are saying that her mother was her best friend but then some people are saying that they have knowledge that her and her mother's relationship was toxic. Allegedly!! Just an observation. I have not heard a best friend said anything or a boyfriend, or a fiance or anything????. Everyone that has spoken are colleagues, people that she have worked with.
She did not really answer the question that each person asked her. She. definitely did not address how to handle a person that is behaving exactly like the young lady that just passed was behaving. I am sorry for being so judgmental. But I'm just calling it like I saw it.
She lived a very exciting and eventful life! She hid everything better than I could ever dream of doing, if I had been dealing with emotions as heavy as she. Cheslie was a very strong woman. Very determined and sure of her intentions. She was very focused and walked in the power of self determination.
That Cheslie Kryst. Wow. I still respect her. I refuse to look or “feel some kind of way” towards her because of her decision to exit the planet like she did. I celebrate her life and the fact that she is now at peace. She accomplished so much in this lifetime! Rest In Peace, all the wonderful things you did in this life, live on, for us to learn from and enjoy! ❤️✨
For salvation, we just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They were baptized in water for the removal of sins and filled with the Holy Ghost. Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled and rising again from the dead. That's what Acts 2:38 is.
We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ… Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT a man, be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD.
We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:6-9, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed.
One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans. Our salvation has to match up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st, John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us.
The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38.
The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church.
It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction.
Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone.
Don't get Titus 3:5 mixed up with James 2:14-26, about WORKS. One is a WORK of your OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS OR GOOD DEEDS and the other is a WORK OF FAITH OR OBEDIENCE TO GOD. One is letting you know that there are no Works we could have done to make Christ want to die on the cross for us. Romans 5:8, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The other is about believing and being obedient to God because you believe. Faith without WORKS OR OBEYING GOD IS DEAD. James 2:14-26.
Noah believed and then OBEYED OR WENT TO WORK BUILDING THE ARK.
Now that Christ already paid the full price for our salvation we have to attain it by obeying his way to receive it, Acts 2:38! There is no sinner's prayer. Nowhere in the bible in this church age does it state to accept the Lord Jesus as your savior and you are saved. Mark 16:16, he that believes and is baptized shall be saved.
FAITH WITHOUT OBEDIENCE TO GOD WILL BE IN VAIN. God bless you!
She was doing waayyy too much! I loved her. And this made me sad. But, we have to take care of ourselves. Just because you are young and strong. Doesn't mean you should take on a million things at once. Protect your mental health! You are not a machine!
She was depressed. She was an Attorney. She was on "Extra". She was a Board member of several organizations giving a million speeches. Flying all over the country. She had a blog. Was developing a fashion line. And active on Instagram and Tik Tok where she was constantly trolled with people (who were jealous and hateful) to kill herself!
And she was writing a book. This sounds like the "mania side" of Bi-polar Depression. And is obviously deadly. All of that is enough to cause someone to self-terminate. We have to take care of ourselves. Slow down. And not take on too much. We are not machines. Rest in Peace beautiful, smart Queen!
The only thing we can do is to be true to our selves instead of being concerned about what others will say. As Jesus said, the truth will set you free so it's very clear that Chelsie was struggling but feared to share her true self to anyone. May her soul be received with Mercy in Christ Jesus
This beautiful young vibrant woman had to be hospitalized during college because of exhaustion …one segment she did on u-tube had her showing childhood fotos and she commented on how full of energy she was back then & how tired & old she felt presently ; that to me was telling & I realized she had high expectations of self & was an over achiever; she also said that soon she would not be seen as a youthful that opportunities would be lessened as she aged * It's such a pressured way to look at life because life is a continuous growth that has many chapters and life should be lived in the present NO ONE can know the future for sure because life can change in an instant *
Her last Instagram post she looked beautiful and her words were :
" May this day bring you rest and peace"
which were words to herself *
I hope she found it 🙏 🌹☮💟
❤RIP 🙏❤
He is exactly right. Check in on your strong friends, people have no idea that they are struggling because they always are working and appearing to have it together.

Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation

The root causes of these issues are societal. There really is no opportunity for many people to rise above their problems in an oppressive country and it affects certain individuals differently 😕
I have watched many videos and read about Cheslie since her death, and she was an OVERACHIEVER. Suicide is common among overachievers. She had FOUR college degrees, and most people do not have one college degree. Overachievers often set unrealistic goals that can lead to suicide, if the goals are not met. Cheslie had a problem with being 30 and not having a certain amount of recognition. She also spoke about the emptiness of a competitive lifestyle. Her unrealistic goal for 30 and not liking her lifestyle may have pushed her over the edge.
🇺🇸
She said, “Suicide is a symptom, never a solution.” What the hell is she talking about? It is a solution. The person didn’t want to live, they solved it by killing themselves. Problem solved. 🙄
I wonder if she had a psychotic episode which pushed her over the edge? Maybe she had a mental illness undiagnosed. She seemed like she had to be the best at everything & was constantly on the go. Probably got very little sleep which can drive neurosis.
Don't forget that you can be a mentally normal person but pushed to mental abnormality and suicide from the evil horrible ways people treat you. Case in point : bullying, sexual abuse , deliberate socail rejection , verbal abuse leading to low self esteem , inhumanity , the inability to express and recieve love due to not receiving parental love. Sometimes other people can make who you are and what becomes of you.
Let’s be honest. Mental health support in America doesn’t exist unless you can afford $200-300 per hour visit. People will always find a way to end their life. If you tell authorities about suicidal thoughts they send you to the state mental health unit which makes you want yo end your life even more.
😔
She was part of the USA Pageantry, worked for "Extra" as a journalist, probably have info that could be used regarding the child/human trafficking, adrenochrome junkies, pedophiles/transgenders amongst so many of the celebrities/elites, including many in this video. Hopefully she is one that went into "Federal Witness Protection" like so many others that had info to take them all down and it's just a cover up…and she has not been murdered by the dems/deepstate/elite, that would be comforting to know! People need to stop watching listening to the news stations owned by the p.o.s. Lying CCP and look for "Real News" stations to get the truth!
Here we go again … same thing being repeated check on your friend busy friend etc. But in reality when someone reaches out to talk or to express themselves people are busy people ignore phone calls text you name it. And if you get to talk to someone you automatically get brush off or you’ll be fine be great full for what you have. People are full of crap. May she Rest In Peace
Maybe she fell or was pushed? Did she leave a note?
What FRIENDS…..? Nobody has friends, everyone is SO FAKE, everyone is So Detached from themselves and reality, with the Social Media Pandemic everyone is walking around Stuck on their phones, there are no Real Conversations anymore…. JUST WALKING ROBOTS 🤖
I lost my brother to suicide. It’s not easy to understand why; it’s never easy.
Rest In Peace and mountains of blessings for her family and friends!
😢🧡🙏🏽🕊
I love her hared work she was doing beautiful woman want to make a change in the world my heart is broken my condolences to her family
🕊
Her essay said it all. Chasing empty dreams or someone’s dreams only bring emptiness (she became Ms. N. Carolina for her mom and a lawyer for her dad). She didn’t do anything for herself. Parents need to stop living off their kids and get a life.
You never know what is going on with someone. A smile mask the pain.
No one is exempt from depression. It comes in different levels. We cope in silence and create gestures as"smoke and mirrors."
Sometimes our "deepest thoughts" are shield from the outside world. Others may not know that we are near the bottom of our existence. However, instead of assuming, we should take the time to help promote one of God's greatest gift – Life! 🙏
Finally, a tribute handled with respect and sensitivity while offering productive advice. I thought this was well-produced. Good job on this segment.
🕊💔
I agree with this psychiatrist to a point but sometimes people who have suicidal thoughts don't want to share with people with their thinking because they don't want to be judged they don't want to put that burden on other people and it's not even that it's a burden they know once they open up that they're going to be judged so these are demons that are being held in their private thoughts and I feel as though you can never help someone that is suicidal because it is such a private thought and most of the time they are alone when they commit suicide and there's nothing anyone else can do about it. God help us all
Simplify your lives people!!!! simplify your life, you don’t have to set some many goals, you don’t have to schedule so many events, you don’t have to earn that much money. You don’t have to accept that promotion, that extra 10-15k may not be worth the stress, tell people NO sometimes when they ask for favors, Travel, study animals, see nature, take a dance class or learn an instrument, plant things and watch them grow, hike to high places and reflect, write, breathe, learn about who you are on the inside and stay true to that person.
Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. 😔Some don't understand that and want a reason why someone can do such a thing. Someone can fake it so well, they can be smiley, happy, cheerful, look 😒 at Robin Williams. Also Jim Carrey a man who is always smiling and being hilarious has opened up about depression. 🧐
When you’re in pain, you get very good at hiding it. Besides that most people are so self absorbed that they don’t even hear or see the signs.
