  1. I watched Miss America faithfully all the years that Bert Parks was there & the pageant needs to get the rights to the song back & play it each year when they crown a new Miss America. His singing the song made the crowning event special to all that watched, not just another pageant. This country is not good about keeping traditions & history. Go to Europe & the thousands of 2 plus century year old buildings and historical places they maintain.

  2. Even though none of the winners would ever look like me or my friends, I accepted that living in a White Anglo Saxon Protestant Country was that definition of beauty. I looked at Miss America Pageant as a fairy tale and I loved Bert Parks. I love Miss Universe or Miss World much more because there is a varied definition of beauty. I live in Israel, and I feel beautiful here.

  3. yes, my husband "sings" There she is, Miss America (repeat, repeat & repeat) to our girl cats . almost 30 years.
We don't remember why he first sang to our Miss but he has continued with every girl cat since no matter her name๐Ÿ˜‰.

he (๐Ÿพ they ๐Ÿพ) also like A you're Adorable (The Alphabet Song) Fred Wise, Buddy Kaye, Sid Lippman ,

I request Don't sit under the apple tree Glenn Miller & The Andrews Sisters.
    p.s.
until our first cat…a boy we donated to for emergency care. my hubby didn't think he was a cat person.
now he can't imagine life without them but we are on our last.
