The Philippines needs a GAME CHANGER that follows the game-changing "Force for Change" agenda of the new owner Anne-JKN. And I don't think it's any of the RECYCLED queens in this batch. From these introduction videos, ambush interviews and tv guestings, the one that leaps out as a great option is Paranaque, the tall single mother with the short hair who has a quiet yet easily palpable charisma and whose smoothly fresh Filipina face emanates warmth and relatability when she speaks.
Of course, we need to see more Clare Dacanay on stage and in action to see whether she can come to a crownable level as a "complete package" Miss Universe Philippines 2023 and who can be an eventual winning circle placer in the 72nd MU edition.
Just a MU placer – you ask?
Well, forget about the next Miss Universe crown for the Philippines. After Fila-Am R'Bonney Gabriel's triumph, the chances of having a 5th Filipina winner in El Salvador would be as teeniest-weeny slimmer than a back-to-back for any country after Venezuela. So the most that the Philippines can hope for would be a runner-up position. But to achieve this, it is still important to go with a candidate chosen along the wishes of Anne-JKN: Force for Change/Transformational Leader/Force for Good blah…blah…blah. And, needless to say, a single mother is definitely a change/transformational and eventually good – make that GREAT! – for the Miss Universe platform as it will kickstart and immediately realize the new all-inclusivity ideas promulgated by the new owner.

My concern for Pauline is her sweetness can be a hit or miss similar to Miss Iceland 2019 but Pauline has a better performance. The Latina glamazons are coming blazing in El Salvador and I think Michelle will be able to hang in there. Of course things can change.
Bohol and Makati is #1 on my list for the MU crown but maybe another dark horse will snatch the MUPH crown this year.
