A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

"Hearsay" from a witness whose job it is to interview the person of interest is not hearsay, but part of their job. I do not see how a judge can rule against it.

Garage organization reeks OCD. Reminds me of Shannon Watts. A parent like that is dangerous to his/her kids and OTHER relations. Face ticks are caused by nurturing or nature (predisposition to OCD). First hand knowledge: My sister with OCD and her ADD husband messed up their two sons; both notorious liars. She, with her irrational and strict rules and regulations since they were just toddlers (ex. double-wash hands, all toys wiped down after play, no plush toys allowed, shoes lined up in closet, etc.) and he by not participating in their upbringing . Not excusing Chandler but it made it easy for him to kill without caring for the OCD parent or the one that didn't protect him from the OCD parent. Just a thought.
The investigators have really done their jobs here. I can't believe all the ends they sorted out in such a short amount of time! The fake e-mails, the fake jobs, fake medical stuff all keeping his parents busy thinking their kid was on the up and up.

The cops were so cavalier about a wall at the Grandpa's cabin, when there was a simple padlock. And even if there weren't a padlock, there's a door. Or window. Talk about knee jerk Overkill. I know they didn't end up having to do that. But even talking about it is a little bit stunning. So unnecessary, so big bad coppish. Ridiculous. A wall. LOL!

Wow, how could no one know what a deviant this guy was? Seems like alot of blindness to who your kid is…this kid had way too much slack and too many choices it sounded like to think he could do this and get away with it.

This judge is so professional 👏. He speaks with such curiosity and is clear with what he expects from everyone but at the same time is aware of everyone's needs in the middle of a pandemic. We need more people like him he would make a great professor in teaching the future 👏
The defense has no leg to stand on. Too much detail from the prosecution and an opening statement that blew the socks off the jury. She realizes she has not much to help her client but she has to try.
