Miss USA 2021 happened just hours ago and Elle Smith ( Miss Kentucky USA 2021 ) was crowned the new Miss USA! She will go on to represent the USA at Miss Universe 2021 in Israel! Unfortunately, my personal favourite; Kataluna Enriques from Nevada, was missing from the Top 16.

Too much enthusiasm for an ordinary girl and a boring show. She won't go further than top 20.
Nevada didn't win because of…. the sponsors! It's a business after all and being transgender still won't bring in the endorsements. Pity.
It's sad about Nevada, pity we don't know if she bombed in her interview or if the Miss USA Org simply wasn't ready for such a groundbreaking move. Frankly, I didn't even initially know she was trans! In any case, I'm glad 4 of my top 5 made it, specifically Florida and Maryland, but my money was on Kentucky for the win from the start and I can definitely see her placing at MU, if not in the Top 5. She is very refreshing, has a great look and is a great speaker!
I don't know why you were so shocked that she did not make the cut, I thought she was beautiful but I hated her walk. To me it was so unnatural, swinging her hips as she did. If I had been a judge I would have marked her down for that, maybe that is what happened.

Despite the slew of new restrictions, Israel will still host the Miss Universe beauty pageant on December 12. Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov said on Sunday that participants will be granted waivers from the curbs while possibly being subjected to regular PCR testing among other health measures.
"This is an event that will be broadcast in 174 countries, a very important event, an event that Eilat, too, is very much in need of," Razvozov told reporters.
I would rather switch out the order and have Miss North Dakota as Miss USA.

I’ve been underwhelmed with Miss USA overall these last few years. I don’t feel they’ve sent out any real quality representatives for MU since 2015. Kentucky is very beautiful but her strongest attribute is her speaking ability. Her stage performance with boring. There are so many contestants at MU already who will outshine her on stage. She will do well in interview but I don’t see her even getting to top 5. But of course we’ll see. I was shocked New York or Nevada didn’t place at all. I was shocked Texas only placed at top 8. I didn’t like that top format. They spent so much time talking about “pageantry reimagined” and talking about crystal stewart over and over and over again. I just didn’t see that translate on to the pageant. But rant over. I wish her well but I’m not excited about USA once again this year 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah, I think Elle's gown performance made a lot of us underestimate her. I think we all knew that if she could just get to the question and answer round she had a real shot. Biggest shock of the night for me was when they had one spot left and I realized that either Nevada or Michigan was not going to make it. Then neither of them made it 😲. I was thrilled with the top 8. I would have been happy with any one of them as winner, although Elle and Florida were always my favorites beauty wise. I'm also pleased that my Miss Teen USA sweethearts, North Dakota, Illinois, and South Carolina performed well. I wanna see all three join other pageant systems. Interesting that in the IMG Miss Universe era, all the Miss USA's have been black girls or blond girls and Elle is both.

Maybe Nevada didn't do well in the interview which pretty much seals your fate to advance to finals. Kentucky stood out on finals night.

Elle Smith is definitely Miss Universe ready. I just hope she has good dress options coz I was not a fan of that gown. I just hope she gets there safely and doesn't contract covid and safely joins the rest of the delegates ❤❤❤❤❤
I was absolutely stunned that Nevada did not make the cut. I really thought she would at least make Top 16. She was a solid performer in swimsuit and evening gown. Just goes to show that interview is still very much the make or break element of competition 🤔
Gotta say I'm liking the changes Miss Crystle Stewart has implemented into Miss USA and I look forward to the continued unfolding and evolution of #PageantryReimagined
