The search is ON for Miss South Africa 2023!

After competing at Miss South Africa 2020 and placing as the 2nd Runner-Up and then subsequently being names Miss Universe South Africa 2020 and going unplaced at Miss Universe 2020, NATASHA JOUBERT IS BACK!!!

I genuinely did not expect this as I was labouring under the belief that women who had represented South Africa at one of the international pageants that they hold the license to (Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Supranational) could not enter Miss SA again…

I’m genuinely glad to see Natasha again, but in this video I talk about some of my concerns for her, for Miss SA and for our international future as a whole.

Who will be the successor to Ndavi Nokeri (Miss South Africa 2022)?

This is a wishlist of 13 women who I want to see compete at Miss South Africa 2023!

  1. I feel like if Natasha wins Miss South Africa, they might do what miss France does like sending a previous winner to the miss universe pageant. So there’s a possibility that they could send Shudufhadzo Musida to Miss Universe.

  2. Just hope the Miss SA organisation will accept this new challenge and not just intentionally excluding Natasha from placing because of her previous participation in Miss Universe.

Rather they should come up with a new strategy for tittle holders… Either using France's idea for sending previous winners to MU or a modified version of 2018 where they announced participants for international pageants at the finale.

If needs be, Ndavi should be dropped from Participating at Miss World. She still had a good reign (even as she is still reigning) .

  3. Best of luck to the beautiful Natasha Joubert. There's nothing embarrassing when a beautiful strong woman is pursuing her dreams and fulfill her passions. We should applaud her and every woman participating in the pageant. She will not be the first that enter again. 🀞❀️❀️❀️

  4. What a mess !!! and besides what would happen to Natasha if she wins Miss South Africa….what I know is that the new owner of Miss Universe does not want the runners up of her pageant to go to any other pageant……

  5. My not so popular opinion is that Natasha is not trying to win any title but her joining is a marketing gimicks. She is already famous.
So, Miss SA might have invited her to join the competition again to boost the publicity of the event and she agreed to participate. Natasha can bring a huge international audience for the national competition. It can be beneficial to both the parties. I'm not from SA so she is the only girl I know this year in this years competition. I will watch the competition if she is there at the finals. Its not always abt winning.

  6. I dont think miss south Africa organisation might crown her .. she might be the 1st runner up.. then they send her to miss world or sup πŸŽ‰..but am definitely rooting up for her

  7. I think you are thinking way too much into this. First of all the whole point of Miss South Africa pageant is to select a Miss South Africa to represent the brand and be an ambassador for the country and not necessarily to select a girl to an International pageant. So she can be Miss South Africa and not represent South Africa at an International pageant.
    2. Just because she represented South Africa at Miss Universe does not mean she will win. You are jumping the gun and making an assumption that she will automatically win without knowing the girls she will be going against this year. She might not even place at all. Who knows?πŸ€”
    3. I don't think the organisation will allow runners up to compete again without having a plan. All am saying is that the organisation am sure has thought about all of this and am sure have a plan in case something like this happens. You can't know better than the organisation themselves. So instead everyone worrying about who and what let's just trust that the organisation knows what they are doing and stop trying to do their job for them.

  8. refilwe mthimunye Placed at miss universe in 2015 as a runner up though she was actually 1st runner up. So it has nothing to do with that ! The girl either earns her spot at universe or she doesn’t . Natasha probably had a bad interview

  9. Shudufhadzo Musida Should go to universe then if Natasha can finally get it right cause this new organization will like that!ITS FALSE WHEN PEOPLE SAY the old MISS UNIVERSE Don’t crown runner ups , Even when Natasha competed under the old organization IMG, She didn’t place but Refilwe was 1st runner up in 2015 and she still placed in the top 15 at miss universe This is just my opinion. I don’t see Natasha Winning! And I said that in 2020 and got backlash. There are a Lot of Strong πŸ’ͺ🏾 Girls ALREADY and we still have 3 days left for Entries ! I’m American πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ through and through but my countries pageant gives me Anxiety,Unlike MISS SOUTH AFRICA πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦. I’m glad my ancestors Native country is Starting to get he recognition it deserves. Only if the rest of Africa Could learn from this Organization!

  10. I feel like this should not be allowed. This puts the judges under pressure because if she doesn't do well at Miss SA, there will be backlash.

Also, if she wins, it means we must forget about Miss Universe and possibly Miss World.

The possible solution here is for Miss SA to unbundle into three different competitions. Many countries have opted for this for decades. Money is not an issue. They can get the funds.

  11. I'm just hoping she wins and for Miss SA to push the bar for to compete again for Universe. She entered as runner up and now in 2023 she's entering as Miss South Africa if she wins I'm sure it's possible. I really Wanna see her again at Miss Universe. I mean who wouldn't Wanna witness that!!? Natasha is coming for Blood and I'm so excited.. I'm going to watch miss SA live if she makes it to the top 10.

  12. This is what we can call a wonderful and crazy surprise ! Natsasa is one of the best beauty queen from SA. From the day one I wanted to see her at miss world ou miss supranational so I can't not be more happy ! I' m a big fan of her ! And I cross all my finger to see her getting rhe crown ! πŸ”₯

  13. I dont think she can win or even make it to the top 10. She had a mini reign in 2020 with Thato and Shudu. Plus the fact that she went to MU, and worked for the org. She did not win that year for a reason. The risk is too high to give her the crown. All of these factors will play when it comes to choosing the queen. Even Jordyn has more chances of winning than her. Best case scenario would be 1st runner up

  14. It is Natasha's time to shine.
She was cheated out of the top 16 as the powers that be dictate who they want to win and she had to be left out as she would have been a strong finalist.
Same happened to Shudu…iced out of top places.

  15. Girl pls 2020 miss universe edition was the most bias by telemundo they crown miss telemundo and they purposely make south africa unplaced that year because they don't want to south africa make to top 5 or 3 or even win we love natasha from malaysia ❀❀❀

  16. In all fairness, Miss South Africa winners can choose the pageant they can go to, either Miss Universe or Miss World or even both. They don’t necessarily have to go to Miss Universe, similar to Miss France. And even if Natasha went to Miss Universe , she was not the Miss SA, it’s Shudu. She was just a runner up. So I guess runner ups can still join and compete again for the title of Miss South Africa, like many other countries in their national pageants (except Miss USA)

I think to make a clearer set of rules, Miss South Africa should decide if runners up who competed internationally are not allowed anymore to compete again even if they’re not Miss SA.

  17. I think it can be allowed for Natasha to compete again in Miss Universe. It happened already with Miss Earth when Miss Earth Thailand compete twice at Miss Earth.
